No Sunday School Today We will show Veggie Tales during Sunday School time for the month of June.
Graduation Sunday has been changed to June 20th. If you know of someone in our Church Family who is graduating from High School please contact Bridget Patton at 584-3720 ext 14 or bpatton@nycap.rr.com
Sunday Morning Discussion Group Today we start our topic for the summer. We will be watching one of the Great Courses offerings; From Jesus to Constantine: A History of Early Christianity. Professor Bart D. Ehrman of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is the lecturer in this DVD series. We will watch a half hour lecture and then spend the second half hour discussing the presentation. Today we will be watching the lecture; The Christianization of the Roman Empire. Please join us. Giving Garden The vegetables are growing. It is time to harvest lettuce and peapods will be ready soon. Most of the garden is planted with tomatoes, squash, cabbage, broccoli and peppers. The BOCES students have been working hard. We also need straw or cut up tree leaves to mulch the garden. The last 2 weeks in August are still available. Sign-up is to the left of the choir room. Please contact Lenore Reber for more information at 587-6161.
Backstretch Dinners Please sign up to cook/serve a dinner for the Backstretch Workers. Dinners are served every Monday and Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. until July 14th. Please register on the calendar in the Narthex. Vegetables may be available in the Giving Garden. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Sayer 581-7211 or Ruth Helgerson 584-8088.
Vacation Bible School registration forms are available in the Education Hallway. Please join us for an awesome week of fun, July 12-16th! Grade K-5 are welcome to attend! Please contact Bridget in the Education Office with any questions at 584-3720 ext 14.
UMW Project The UMW is collecting money for the UMCOR, (United Methodist Committee on Relief), ‘Drill a Well’ Project. The Well Project is an answer to a prayer for those women and children who must carry water for miles so their families can drink, bathe, and cook with clean water. Please drop your donations in the ‘Wishing Well’ located in the Narthex. Checks should be made out to UMW with ‘Drill a Well’ on the memo line.
Living Springs will meet at the church at 10:00am on June 18th. We will carpool to Lynn’s for a pot luck lunch and make plans for next year. Next meeting will be Sept 17th.
Reminders…..
• The deadline for the July & August Messenger is Tuesday, June 15th. This is your last chance to get information into the Messenger for the summer. The next Messenger will be published for September. That deadline is August 17th.
• If your group is taking a break from meeting during July and August please let Veronica in the church office know so that the building remains secure.
