Pride Pole Dedication It is with great enthusiasm that the Reconciling Committee invites you to the SSUMC Pride Pole Dedication Ceremony starting at noon on June 12th. The Pride Pole is part of our 2010 Outreach Program and provides a visible way of extending a welcome to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community looking for a safe and welcoming place to worship. The ceremony will start with a remembrance of the day in 1995 when we first stood tall and declared ourselves to be among the 250 Reconciling Congregations of the United Methodist Church. We will then talk about what that really means today and what more we can do to promote our Congregation and bring new, contributing GLBT members to our Church. The pole is truly a work of art and we want to thank both Larry Zinn and Christina Putnam for their efforts and creativity. In keeping with the SSUMC spirit, we will follow the dedication with a picnic lunch. It will be a great day so fill up your picnic baskets and join us on Saturday, June 12th at 12 noon. Thank you, The Reconciling Committee

Capital Pride Parade The Reconciling Committee is incredibly excited to be participating in this year’s Capital Pride Parade. The Parade starts at 12 noon on Sunday, June 13th in Washington Park, Albany. The route is a circle that starts and ends in the Park. We welcome all who want to join us whether to walk with the group or stand along the parade route and cheer us on. We will be carrying the SSUMC banner and handing out cards to the bystanders with our Mission Statement, address and contact information in hopes of gaining new visitors and eventually, new members. We welcome both your presence and most of all, your prayers. Thank you, The Reconciling Committee
